Join Team Spatucci in the March for Babies!
The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. As some of you know, the March of Dimes mission is very near and dear to my heart. Our daughter, Lucy, was born 11 weeks premature and stayed in the NICU for 45 days before she was able to come home. It was a very trying time for our family, but we were so very fortunate to be able to rely on her amazing team of doctors and nurses, who provided her with the very best of care. The research and programs funded by the March of Dimes plays a very integral part in helping babies born too soon, too small, and often very sick.
My friends, Maria and Danny Spatucci, have also been affected by infant prematurity. In 2011, they formed Team Spatucci to walk the March of Dimes’ “March for Babies” in loving memory of their son Lucas, to raise money and awareness for the March of Dimes cause. This year, I am SO happy to say that Maria and Danny will be joined on the March for Babies by the newest additions to their family, Gerard and Christian! Gerard and Christian were born premature in November but able to come home with Maria and Danny in February!
